AAST 25th Year Celebration in Pictures

On March 28, 2025, AAST hosted the program’s 25th Year Celebration, bringing together alumni, community members, faculty, staff, and current students.

The room showcased student poetry and archived material from the late 90s and early 2000s.

The program recognized the 2025-2026 AAST Scholarship recipients: Abraham Akinlandenu, Michelle Kim, Hana Lee, Khaymar Moe, Brendan Maglaqui, and Divya Vakkalanka. And Lahiruni Dias Amarawardena was awarded the 2025 Student Impact Award.

An essential part of the evening was the reflection panel of alumni and current students featuring Lahiruni Dias Amarwardena, Tanya Lee, Dr. William Liu, and M Pease and moderated by Hsuan Ou. They shared insights from their organizing efforts and calls to action during this political climate.
