KAREN CHEE Comes to UMD!

  • Adele H. Stamp Student Union, University of Maryland (map)

Named by Entertainment Weekly as one of 11 "Asian American comics to watch" in 2020, Karen Chee's stand-up comedy and writing has taken her from The New Yorker and McSweeney's to the Golden Globe Awards to NBC's Late Night with Seth Meyers, where she's featured in a regular segment called “What Does Karen Know?”.

Join us for an evening of laughter and insight as Karen will do a stand-up set before sitting down with her former senior thesis advisor, Dr. Terry K Park (AAST), to discuss how Asian American Studies has shaped her soaring, multi-pronged career. Learn more about Karen here: www.karenchee.com.

Opening act by College Park Open Mic Comedy’s John Hedrick ‘19.
