Youth Mental Health First Aid Training offered at UMD by Dr. Liu, Calvin J. Li Postdoc Fellow, and Dr. Wang, AAST Affiliate Faculty

Dr. Jia Li Liu, the 2018-2020 Calvin J. Li Postdoctoral Fellow, and Dr. Cixin Wang, assistant professor of Counseling, Higher Education and Special Education and AAST affiliate faculty, are offering a Youth Mental Health First Aid course for UMD students, faculty, and staff starting the third week of September. They are presenting the curriculum as it was developed (see here: https://www.mentalhealthfirstaid.org/take-a-course/course-types/youth/) but also integrating additional discussion about how mental health issues uniquely affect Asian American youth/families. The training is co-sponsored by Multicultural Involvement and Community Advocacy (MICA) and the Asian American Studies Program (AAST).

Session 2: Monday, September 23
Session 3: Monday, September 30
Session 4: Monday, October 7
